30 Year Reunion

After all the months of meetings, planning, and mailings, our 30-Year Reunion has come and gone, and in the opinion of most everyone, was deemed a success.

What a fun time it was, getting to be with old friends, many of whom we had not seen in 30 years. Some had changed a little, some had changed a lot, but of course in 30 years, we indeed have all changed.

There was lost hair, gained pounds, and the addition of some hard earned, well deserved lines and creases that now disguise the youthful faces we remember. Yet with all our changes, there was a wonderful sense of familiarity. Just looking into the faces of these old friends, for a time, let us remember things the way they were. And at least for those 6 hours, it was good to remember what it felt like to be 17.

At the end of that night I couldn't help but recall my Dad saying to me on the day of high school graduation, "You don't know it yet, but these were some of the best years of your life." He was right.

Special Thanks To David Girdler

For His Help As Emcee Of Our Reunion! David comes into town for the reunion and, without any notice or preparation, has the job as emcee basically just dumped in his lap. But what a wonderful job he did. He made it so entertaining. He even had the DJ working in sync with him, when right on cue the songs were played as David reminded us what the top 10 hits were in 1973. Of course he did come with experience after doing the same job at the 25-year reunion. We know we kind of put him on the spot though, but he never hesitated, just took right over....Good Job David....And how smart we all were our Senior year, when we elected David as our Class President. We knew what we were doing.
