35th Class Reunion, LCHS Class of 1973

It was a great reunion, and if you could not attend, we certainly missed you. Held this year at Crooked Creek Golf Community's restaurant, it was a beautiful, roomy facility, with a great meal, nice background music from the 70's and the joy of renewing old friendships.

Once again, we are so grateful to David Girdler, for taking over all the speaking parts of the evening that none of the rest of us wanted...but then, no one else could do as well as David always does.

Of course, we had hoped to have larger attendance...Of course we had wished to see every single classmate. But how wonderful it was to see those who were there.  A favorite saying of mine is "Always remember what it's like to be seventeen", and when this group is together, you do remember and still feel, for a short time anyway, what it's like to be seventeen. 

With everyone, the faces, the shapes, the lives have all changed somewhat - we are 35 years older, but again, as at past reunions, there was such a sense of familiarity that night. You seemed to see everyone again as you saw them 35 years ago - standing at the lockers, watching them play ball, talking in class, going to dances and parties, passing in the hallway...the way we were, but with the maturity now that lets us appreciate each other in a way we didn't know back then...It was hard to say goodbye.

The reunion committee hopes everyone had a great time at the reunion, and that those who came to the picnic on Sunday enjoyed it as well. We look forward to seeing all of you back in five years, and we encourage anyone who could not attend this year to plan on coming to the next.  We will try to give much advanced notice so that you can schedule the time to attend.  Come back to the website often, and please send up updates of addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc., so that we can easily reach you five years from now....Any suggestions for future reunions, just let us know.  Click Here to Email
